Solar UPS systems
Why go Solar?
Solar power is a 100% clean, renewable energy source. It reduces reliance on oil, coal and natural gas for electricity production. These fossil fuels produce harmful emissions that affect the quality of air, water and soil, and are responsible for global warming. In contrast, solar energy produces no pollution. The sun’s abundant power offers an unlimited source of energy that does not strip the landscape or harm the ozone layer. Residential solar energy systems represent an investment in the future of the planet, conserving non-renewable energy sources and protecting the environment.
With a residential solar system, your home is powered by rooftop solar panels during the day and by energy stored in the battery at night. By installing solar panels, you gain energy independence.
How does the panel convert sunlight into electricity?
Solar-powered photovoltaic (PV) panels work by absorbing sunlight with photovoltaic cells, generating direct current (DC) energy and then converting it to usable alternating current (AC) energy with the help of inverter technology. AC energy then flows through the home’s electrical panel and is distributed accordingly.
Solar cells are typically made from silicon, which is a semiconductor and can generate electricity. This process is known as the “photovoltaic effect”
What is Grid Tie Solar?
A grid-tie solar electric system – also referred to as grid-tied PV (photovoltaics) – uses solar panels and other components to turn sunlight into electricity for your use, while your home remains hooked up to the local utility. An array of solar panels is installed (usually on the roof of the building) and connected to the home’s electrical system. The electricity is used first to power the home’s immediate electrical needs. Because grid-tie solar is able to take advantage of a wide range of benefits and is also virtually maintenance-free, it is clear to see why it is currently the most commonly installed solar system on residential homes and businesses!
What are UPS systems?
UPS stands for uninterruptible power supply. And with a complete system, you can remove “power outage” from your list of worries. The technology continues to improve as the importance of maintaining power to essential systems and operations becomes more and more critical. UPS system contains a battery and inverter that are always connected to the output, and if power fails, a switch changes the electrical flow. The continuous connection provides superior filtering. Photon Voltaic collector panels can be added at a later stage.
The sun has produced energy for billions of years. Every hour the sun beams more energy onto Earth than it needs to satisfy global energy needs for an entire year. Let’s harness the infinite, renewable energy source. It is a perfect way to lower your carbon footprint, reduce your electricity bill and save our environment.
